This month marks the anniversary of our beloved Koekelbeer: the first beer made in our craft brewery in Koekelberg, Brussels wayyy back in 2022. As the only brewery in Koekelberg, it was fitting that one of our flagship beers would be the Koekelbeer, thanks for the name John!

Belgium is famous for its beers, so much so that Belgian beer culture is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage. Indeed, there is so much to celebrate, the high quality of brews, the sheer number of Belgian breweries, the ingenuity and complexity that drives Belgian beer culture and solidifies itself as some of the best in the world.
We Always Chose the Hard Way
At Tipsy Tribe we always chose the hard way every time, despite the chemical burns, knee injections and weekly burnouts.
We always chose to make everything ourselves from scratch. This meant saying goodbye to our old jobs and steady income… and holidays… how we miss holidays. This meant a massive sacrifice from family time and massive debt.
But was it worth it?
We say yes, absolutely.
Craft Beer in Brussels, With a Twist
Today we pride ourselves in making some of the best craft beers in town. We make classic Belgian styles but we also like to let our creativity shine and give it a little twist. From a spicy honey blond to Japanese IPA, we try to be innovative with the craft beers we make.
More Than Just an Anniversary
So the anniversary of the Koekelbeer is more than just another year in the calendar. It’s when we look back at our humble beginnings and remember how much improvement we made. It reminds us that we need to keep our heads high and keep going.
