What is the most unique drinking experience in Brussels?
Visiting Tipsy Tribe is unlike anything else in Brussels. It’s the only “brewstillery” in Brussels, meaning in a single visit you can taste craft beers and artisan spirits all made on the premises, join a guided tour of both the brewery and distillery, and attend events ranging from beer yoga to gin-making workshops. There's nowhere else in Brussels where you can do all of that in one place.
What's the difference between a brewery tour and a distillery tour in Brussels?
A brewery tour focuses on how beer is made, mashing, fermenting, and conditioning grains and hops into beer. A distillery tour covers the art of distillation, how spirits like gin, vodka, or whisky are made. At Tipsy Tribe, our tour covers either or both in a single visit, because we do both under the same roof. It's the only place in Brussels where you can get that full picture.
What makes an independent Brussels brewery worth visiting?
Independent breweries like Tipsy Tribe are worth visiting because every beer and spirit you taste is made by the people standing in front of you, using recipes they created themselves, in the building you're standing in. There are no large corporations dictating flavour profiles, no mass production lines, and no compromise. At Tipsy Tribe, we're a family-run brewstillery and every batch reflects that.
What is craft brewing and how is it different from commercial brewing?
Craft brewing prioritises quality, creativity, and small-batch production over volume and consistency at scale. Commercial breweries produce millions of litres designed to taste the same every time; craft breweries like Tipsy Tribe brew in small batches, experiment with ingredients and styles, and adapt based on what excites the brewer and the community. The result is beer with character, provenance, and a story behind every pour.
How long does it take to make whisky?
Making whisky is a slow process. At Tipsy Tribe, we start by mashing and fermenting grains, then distilling the liquid before it goes into barrels to age. The ageing process is what gives whisky its depth and character — and it takes years, not weeks. Our Brussels whisky is a labour of patience, which is part of what makes it special as the first whisky ever produced in the city.
